short story: The Sunrise by Lost Soul

the fine white sand felt smooth under his
bare feet. and the little waves that gently
kissing the shore sometimes reached his numb
legs. its almost six in the evening and the
temperature was getting colder.

he was bare atop
but he didn't give a damn! the chilling breeze of
the ocean cannot able to penetrate his numb body.
he has no time for external nuisance. he was full
inside. mixed emotions seemed to choke him. and
he wanted to scream in extreme pain and
frustration!

hell and damnation!

he kicked the protruding seashell on the
sand with fiercing force. the pathetic thing
created a loud splash in the water.

hell! hell! hell!

he wanted to bump himself on the wall! he
was so foolish... so crazy... so... so... he ran
out of adjectives!

why... but oh why? did he deserve this? the
pain that was eating his heart right now can
bring himself to another dimension of lunacy!
this is insanity! he mocked himself.
what wrong has he done? for sure he wasn't
worth this damned punishment! what disgrace has
God casted upon him! this is unfair... this is
really one hell of unfair dealing. oh what the
heck!

he put his hands on his pockets. the lower
part of his pants were already dripping with
water. he drew a sharp breath and released it
with condemned vexation.

he cannot fathom the innermost corner of his
heart. he was filled with anger... frustration...
disappointment... betrayal...

infidelity.... damn those infidels!
his fist tightened as bitterness flooded his
heart. he was raging with wrath! his chest was
pounding heavily that he was almost chasing his
hard breathing.

drat the two of them! he never did think
that this would happen to him... that they could
dare do this to him! that he would be trapped in
this fuckin situation.
his fiancee and his bestfriend....

he bursted out. the emotions he was battling
to keep inside him found its way outside. with
shivering body, he fell on his knees. he can
barely see the golden streaks of light casted
upon by the beautiful sunset.
tears clouded his
eyes. and like an innocent and helpless child, he
broke into a loud muffling cry. his shoulders
were shaking... involuntarily... heavily... and
he would never dare care the hell of looking like
a helpless warrior at that moment.
the pain he
was suffering was simply incomparable!
is this the prize of loving someone so dearly
and purely? he hissed. he stared at the golden
heaven above with vivid distaste. the
breathtaking scenery barely captured his
attention. golden streaks of light and yellow-
orange cottony clouds painted the sky. its
trancing beauty was enough to put anybody into
its captivating splendor.

he was always been mesmerized by the
spectacular sunset. nothing can be paralleled to
its encompasssing beauty. but he cannot
appreciate the beauty and splendor of the
magnificnet sunset right now. his melancholic
heart cannot entertain any form of happiness nor
warmth.

he sighed. his spirit was never been
battered.... his self-confidence was never been
put to test... and his hope was never been
shattered into pieces... but he felt hollow and
empty at this moment.
he needed to collect the shattered bits and
pieces of his life...

his face was empty... hard like an
adamanth... he can find no courage to lift a
finger. he was totally drained. and his weary
heart wanted to give up the battle anytime.
but the sunset is simply beautiful!
the hands of the clock hit six in the
evening. he was able to witness the tip of the
golden ball vanished on the horizon. the sun wa
already setting. and darkness started to dominate
the environment.

but he wasn't bothered. sunset only ends up
everything but promises a new beginning... the
night would be too long but tomorrow, the sun
will rise again and a new chapter of his life
will begin.

he realeased a painful controlled sigh.
yeah, a new page of his life's adventure is about
to happen....
